Travel
We suggest flying into Roma. Roma has 2 airports.
They are called Fiumicino and Ciampino and are located outside the city centre.
We then suggest to either rent a car and drive to the castello, or use the intercity train service. The closest station to the castello is Terni. To get to Terni guests would need to go to Roma Termini (for arrivals at Fiumicino) or Roma Tiburtina (for arrivals at Ciampino).
If you decide to take the train, the journey is approximately 90 minutes long to Terni. Please ensure you download the Trenitalia app to check departure times. Most importantly, please do not forget to validate your train ticket at the station before boarding the train as the fines are hefty!
The final leg of the journey is a 30 minute taxi ride from Terni to the castello.

Accommodation
There are options around the castello where you can stay. If you search for Massa Martana on AirBnB or Booking.com, this should give you ideas that are reasonably priced
There are apartments also attached to the castello that can be rented, however, these do not have the best amenities. They are very simple and rustic and very often they are not equipped with A/C, wi-fi, TV, safety box, minibar, hairdryer etc. If you would like to know more about these apartments please contact Alok or Abbie.
Umbria is fairly remote so we would advise booking taxi’s in advance or renting your own car. Be mindful with what accommodation you choose due to the distance to and from the castello.
